How to set up your WhatsApp account?

Hiro now lets you send and receive messages via WhatsApp! This page will help you set up your Hiro WhatsApp account and trouble shoot any issues.

The Telynx number must be LOCAL number, not a toll free number.
You cannot connect an existing WhatsApp mobile or desktop app account to your Hiro account. You can use a WhatsApp account already connected to a third-party platform or you can create a new account directly in Hiro.

Setting up your account

  1. Log into your Hiro account here: https://app.hiro.fm
  2. Click on “Creator Settings” (left column)
  3. Click on “WhatsApp” (top row tabs)

Option 1: I have a phone number

You can use an existing SIM card, Google number or a mobile number that you already own.

The number cannot already be used with an existing WhatsApp mobile app or desktop app account.
You must be able to receive an SMS confirmation message on that number.
  • Select the top box “I have a phone number“
  • Confirm the number isn’t already in use with an existing WhatsApp account
  • Confirm that you can receive an SMS confirmation code on this number
  • Click “Next Step“

Connect to your Facebook Account

  • Click the button “Continue With Facebook“

If you are not logged into your Facebook account, log into your Facebook account.

If you are already logged into your Facebook account, select the account you want to use for your Business WhatsApp account.

Click on “Continue“

Connect your Facebook account with the Hiro.fm web app by click “Get Started“

If you choose an existing Facebook business account, it cannot already be connected to an existing WhatsApp account.

You can either create a new Facebook Business Account or use an existing Facebook Business Account if you have one.

Keep the default drop-downs and select “Next“

Enter your WhatsApp Business Name, select your business category and select ‘Next‘

Enter your the phone number that will be used with the WhatsApp account. This number cannot be tied to an existing WhatsApp Account and can receive a text message.

Click “Next“

Enter the unique 6-digit verification code that is sent to your personal number into the verification box as shown in this example image:

Review all the information and click ‘Continue‘

Once all the information is verified, click “Finished“. And that’s it!

If you ever need to disconnect the number, you can click ‘Disconnect’

Option 2: I have a verified number with a Facebook Business Account

You do not need to receive a verification text from Facebook because your number is already verified. You only need to link your Facebook Business account and select the phone number.
You cannot use a verified Facebook number if it is already connected to a WhatsApp mobile or desktop app account.

If you have a verified number with a Facebook Business account and that number isn’t being used for an existing WhatsApp mobile or desktop app account, you can use that for your Hiro WhatsApp account.

Select “I have a verified phone umber with my Facebook Business account” and “Next Step“

Connect to your Facebook Account

Click the button “Continue With Facebook“

If you are not logged into your Facebook account, log into your Facebook account.

If you are already logged into your Facebook account, select the account you want to use for your Business WhatsApp account.

Click on “Continue“

Connect your Facebook account with the Hiro.fm web app by click “Get Started“

If you choose an existing Facebook business account, it cannot already be connected to an existing WhatsApp mobile or desktop account.

Select your existing Facebook Business Account.

Select your WhatsApp Business Account and Your Registered Number and select “Next“

Review all the information and click ‘Continue‘

Once all the information is verified, click “Finished“. And that’s it!

If you ever need to disconnect the number, you can click ‘Disconnect’

Option 3: Use a Telnyx Number

You can use any country code for your Telnyx number. USA numbers are $1/month.
You DO NOT need to get your Telnyx account verified first if you are ONLY using the number for WhatsApp. If you are using the number for WhatsApp and SMS, you still must go through level one verification process on Telnyx.

If you don’t have a Telnyx number already, go to the Telnyx website and purchase a number. If you already have a Telnyx number connected to your Hiro account, you can go ahead and use that number.

Select “Next Step“

OPTIONAL : Connect your Telnyx Account

If your Telnyx account isn’t already connected to your Hiro account, we will connect it now. To do that…

Enter the your Telnyx API Key and Public Key – These can be found on your Telnyx Dashboard

Click ‘Connect‘

Select the phone number that you will use with your WhatsApp Account. Click “Next Step“

Connect to your Facebook Account

Click the button “Continue With Facebook“

If you are not logged into your Facebook account, log into your Facebook account.

If you are already logged into your Facebook account, select the account you want to use for your Business WhatsApp account.

Click on “Continue“

Connect your Facebook account with the Hiro.fm web app by click “Get Started“

If you choose an existing Facebook business account, it cannot already be connected to an existing WhatsApp account.

You can either create a new Facebook Business Account or use an existing Facebook Business Account if you have one.

Keep the default drop-downs and select “Next“

Enter your WhatsApp Business Name, select your business category and select ‘Next‘

Enter your the Telnyx number that will be used with the WhatsApp account. You can move the Facebook popup to fully view your Telnyx number.

Click “Next“

Enter the unique 6-digit verification code that is displayed on your Hiro web page into the verification box as shown in this example image:

Review all the information and click ‘Continue‘

Once all the information is verified, click “Finished“. And that’s it!

If you ever need to disconnect the number, you can click ‘Disconnect’
