Hiro Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
This policy sets the rules for what you can and can’t do on Hiro. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, including team members and sub-account users. It’s part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms mean the same thing here as they do there.
If you break these rules we may remove content, throttle or disable features, suspend or terminate your account, and report you to carriers, platforms or law enforcement where appropriate.
1. Content
You may not upload, import, generate, sell or distribute content that:
- Is illegal where you or your listeners are.
- Sexualizes minors in any way. We report this to NCMEC and law enforcement without exception.
- Depicts non-consensual sexual activity, or sexual content involving real people without their consent.
- Contains real depictions of violence, gore or cruelty.
- Promotes or incites violence, terrorism or hatred against any group.
- Harasses, threatens, doxxes or bullies anyone.
- Infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, publicity or other rights. This includes music, voice clones, images and text you don’t have rights to.
- Impersonates a person or organization, or falsely claims affiliation with one.
- Is deceptive: fake reviews, fake scarcity, fake testimonials, fabricated credentials, or claims you can’t back up.
- Promotes fraud, pyramid schemes, or “guaranteed” investment, income or health results.
- Offers raffles, lotteries or prizes based on chance.
- Contains malware, phishing or anything designed to compromise someone’s device or account.
Adult content (nudity or realistic sexual content between consenting adults) is allowed only when the show is marked as adult, restricted to paying listeners, and legal where you operate. Adult shows can’t be promoted through SMS or WhatsApp.
2. Imports
When you import from YouTube, RSS or video files, you must own the content or have the owner’s written permission. Importing someone else’s podcast or channel is a copyright violation and grounds for immediate termination.
3. Listener data
Listener contacts, tags, listening data and message history belong to the listener relationship you built. You may use them only for your shows and your own communications with those listeners. You may not:
- Sell, rent or trade listener data.
- Import purchased, scraped or rented lists.
- Upload contacts who haven’t agreed to hear from you.
- Use listener data for a different business or product without fresh consent.
- Export listener data and use it in ways that violate their consent or applicable law.
4. Messaging (SMS, WhatsApp, push, email)
Messaging is regulated, and carriers cut off senders who abuse it. These rules protect every Hiro user’s ability to deliver messages.
Consent. Only message people who opted in to hear from you, through a Hiro form, keyword, checkout or an import where you can prove consent. Marketing messages need explicit consent; transactional messages (purchase confirmations, access links, episode notifications for a show they bought) need a prior relationship.
Opt-outs. Honor STOP, unsubscribe and similar requests immediately. Don’t remove or hide the unsubscribe mechanisms Hiro adds. Don’t re-add someone who opted out.
Identification. Every marketing message must make clear who it’s from. Don’t spoof sender names or numbers.
Registration. Complete any carrier registration we require before sending, including 10DLC for US SMS and business verification for WhatsApp.
Content limits. Don’t send messages about cannabis, CBD, tobacco, vaping, firearms, gambling, adult content, payday loans, debt relief, get-rich-quick offers, or other categories carriers prohibit, regardless of whether they’re legal where you are. Don’t send anything that would violate Twilio’s, Telnyx’s, Meta’s or your email provider’s policies.
Frequency and quality. Keep spam complaints under 0.1% and bounce rates under 3%. If your sending trips these thresholds or draws carrier complaints, we may pause your messaging until it’s fixed.
Connected email accounts. If you connect Gmail, Outlook or SMTP, you’re bound by that provider’s sending limits and policies. We may disconnect an account that’s causing deliverability problems.
5. AI features
Don’t use the AI show builder, AI assistant, Publisher, cover art generation, ElevenLabs voices or the Claude connector to:
- Generate content that violates Section 1.
- Clone a real person’s voice or likeness without their documented permission.
- Produce spam, mass low-value content, or content meant to game search engines or platforms.
- Generate fake reviews, testimonials or social proof.
- Impersonate real people, brands or organizations.
- Extract, reverse engineer or replicate the underlying models or Hiro’s prompts.
- Circumvent credit metering or provider rate limits.
- Feed in personal data of others beyond what you’re allowed to process for your shows.
You’re responsible for reviewing AI output before publishing, sending or selling it.
6. Sales pages, domains and social proof
- Everything on your sales page is your responsibility, including pricing claims, income claims, health claims and required disclosures.
- Custom domains must be yours and can’t be used to spoof another brand.
- Social proof popups must show real activity. Fabricating purchases, signups or reviews is a deceptive practice and will get the feature disabled.
- Tracking pixels and analytics you add require the disclosures and consent your listeners’ laws demand.
7. Platform abuse
You may not:
- Circumvent plan limits, access controls, download caps, credit metering or feature gates.
- Share accounts, resell individual logins, or use one account for multiple unrelated businesses (Agency plans excepted, per the Terms).
- Scrape, crawl or bulk-download content or data from Hiro, including other creators’ shows.
- Access another user’s account or data.
- Reverse engineer the Service or the mobile app.
- Overload the Service, the API or the Claude connector with automated traffic beyond published limits.
- Use the Public API, webhooks or automations to do anything else on this list.
- Test the Service’s security without written permission. Report vulnerabilities to [email protected].
- Re-share subscriber-only content you bought from a creator.
8. Agency and reseller accounts
Agency sub-accounts are for your clients. Don’t sell individual logins, don’t pose as Hiro, don’t route your clients to Hiro support, and don’t advertise Hiro access below the floor described in the Terms. We may ask for evidence that sub-accounts belong to real clients.
9. Reporting
To report a violation, email [email protected] with the show or page URL, what the problem is, and any evidence. For copyright, use the DMCA process in the Terms. For child safety issues, email [email protected] and we’ll act immediately.
10. Enforcement
We decide, in our judgment, whether this policy has been violated. Depending on severity we may warn you, remove content, disable a feature, suspend or terminate your account, withhold refunds, and notify third parties. Repeat or serious violations result in termination without notice. We may also act on conduct not listed here if it harms Hiro, our users, or third parties.
